The Canada Revenue Agency announced in December 2007 that  the GST rate will be reduced by one percentage point from 6% to 5%, effective January 1, 2008. Some relief and savings for those buyers who wishes to buy a brand new home - instead of 6% to pay on the purchase price of a home, they will be paying 5% only.
